Tunisia - adventure bike tour: The grand tour right through the gateway to Africa!

Dive into the mystic charm of Northern Africa

Those who want to experience history up close will discover many traces of the ancient Carthaginians, Phoenicians, Romans and Arabs. Also most impressive are the diverse landscapes. The little developed north is known for its jagged cliff coasts, romantic sandy coves and the densely forested Kroumir mountain region. Our way continues far down into the south, past the Table de Jugutha, a mountain plateau that was once used by robbers as a base for their raids.

As it gets warmer, the changing vegetation becomes increasingly sparse in the open savannah and wild foothills of the Atlas Mountains. We cross Chott el Djerid, the biggest salt lake in Northern Africa, on a well-built dam and look at the gateway to the Sahara. We enter a unique landscape of dunes that you will never forget. The southernmost point of our journey is Ksar Ghilane. Until a few years ago, this charming oasis was only accessible via the sand dunes or the back-breaking pipeline dirt road, so it was only viable for off-road vehicles. Now we get to our destination comfortably coming from Douz on a newly paved section. Riding across the Berber territory, our route takes us back to Tunis. At most parts, our team will prepare a rich picnic for us.

Tunisia, the Gateway to Africa, is surely a unique road tour for physically fit and experienced riders; this tour runs parallel to our off-road tour.
