Friuli - a well-kept secret for skilled riders and nature lovers
From the Alps to the Adriatic Sea
We start our tour in the picturesque foothills of the Alps at the Austrian-German border and ride across the Kreuzberg Pass directly to our base hotel in Sappada, from where we will depart to our day tours.
The Friuli region in Upper Italy (a well-kept secret among experienced travellers) is within the catchment area of the Tagliamento and lower Isonzo, extending from the Carnian and Julian Alps all the way down to the Adriatic Sea. We explore this part of the Alps riding on amazing routes and also visit the neighbouring countries Austria and Slovenia. Of course, the gourmet pleasures that this region has to offer will not fall by the wayside.
This route is taking place parallel to our off-road tour – which is highly popular for 16 years – and is therefore particularly suitable for couples with diverging motorbiking interests. At the end of the day there is time to share the rich experiences of the day over a glass of good Friulian wine.
